Who makes our garden trug?
Don
Barber, a retired shipbuilder, started his family business in 1979.
Each basket is crafted one at a time by hand – fastened with copper
nails, air dried, sanded and dipped in clear food-grade mineral oil
letting the natural beauty of the wood show through.
What type of wood is used?
Mrytlewood
is one of the Northwest’s prized hardwoods. This broadleaf evergreen
tree grows abundantly in a small region of the Pacific Coast. Myrtle is a
fine grained hardwood which is tough and strong. The color of the grain
varies from a satiny gray to a combination of red, yellow and brown.
